Demonstrating the Impact of OSSU’s Model for Fortifying Patient-Oriented Research
Ontario SPOR SUPPORT Unit (OSSU) needed to develop and pilot an evaluation tool to assess the impact of its multi-sectoral approach to patient-oriented research at the midpoint of its funding cycle.
Recognizing the challenge of teasing apart the incremental value-add of OSSU—in facilitating partnerships, promoting patient engagement and driving knowledge translation—from the outputs of the Ontario research community, the client engaged Shift Health to create a unique performance assessment framework. Shift Health worked closely with stakeholders across the province to develop and apply an evidence-based evaluation tool and craft compelling communication materials to showcase OSSU’s impact.
The enduring tool has empowered the client to regularly assess its performance, understand its strengths, identify opportunities for improvement and create custom reports for funders and partners.
