Securing $15M for a Microbiome Research and Drug Discovery Program
McMaster University sought to secure a $15M investment to support the creation of a research program focused on studying host microbe interactions and the development of new antimicrobial agents.
Shift Health led the development of a Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Innovation Fund application by facilitating working sessions with the client to validate, supplement and refine a differentiating strategic focus; crafting multiple sections of the submission, including the strategic focus, an assessment of the program’s expected impact across Canada and its knowledge mobilization strategy; and guiding scientists in the creation and refinement of technical content.
With Shift Health’s guidance, McMaster University built consensus on vision and messaging, ultimately securing $15M to advance a model for the increasingly relevant research of the microbiome.
