Director, People and Operations
Shift Health is an intellectually stimulating consulting firm, home to some of the best consultants, health and life sciences researchers, and administrators—individuals who, every day, bring creativity and passion to the work environment. It is in this context that Shift Health invites applications and nominations for the role of Director, People and Operations—a new position that will be central to the next chapter of the organization’s growth.
Reporting to the President and serving as a member of the Leadership Team, the Director, People and Operations brings a deep and abiding commitment to the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) to the role, and provides broad human resources expertise and operational know-how to strengthen the culture, capabilities, and coordination of its consulting and administrative teams. Among other areas of responsibility, the incoming Director, People and Operations helps to design, implement, and manage a technology-enabled performance management, professional development, and training system; leads recruitment and onboarding; and works in partnership with Finance to develop and maintain relevant financial/performance dashboards while monitoring progress against targets. They will also develop and maintain corporate risk management/mitigation strategies; negotiate and oversee contractual relationships with key vendors/suppliers; develop and maintain up-to-date corporate policies compliant with relevant laws and statutes; and foster performance excellence through training, mentorship, and professional growth.
The individual most likely to realize success in the role holds a degree from a recognized university along with a professional designation (CHRP or CPA), or a combination of education and relevant experience; several years’ experience in management and leading corporate services functions; leadership and financial literacy skills; and analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to inform matters related to the organization’s strategic directions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as is the ability to work in a dynamic environment where change is constant.
To ensure an applicant list that has greater representation from Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, thereby reflecting Canada’s diverse population, Shift Health is partnering with BIPOC Executive Search. All interested applicants are encouraged to apply, although Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. Resumes can be sent to Urmilla Khan or Jason Murray by e-mailing ukhan@bipocsearch.com, or individuals can apply through the BIPOC Executive Search mobile app. A competitive salary is offered along with a bonus based on personal and corporate performance, as well as a comprehensive, industry-leading benefits plan.
Shift Health adheres to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). If you require accommodations at any stage of the hiring process, please notify Urmilla Khan at the e-mail address above.
We thank everyone for their expression of interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
