Delivering on a New Mandate to Strengthen Dementia Research, Care and Community Support
The Alzheimer Society of Canada—the national body of a federation of dozens of provincial societies and regional chapters—needed a strategy to deliver a newly-approved mandate.
Appreciating the complex dynamics of the Society’s federated model, Shift Health led a highly engaging process that included discussions with representative members, the Board of Directors, international society counterparts, people with dementia and other Canadian health charities. Shift Health developed a 5-year strategy and implementation roadmap (including key performance metrics) organized across the pillars of Research, National Advocacy and Knowledge Translation & Exchange.
The planning process generated necessary and meaningful dialogue amongst key stakeholders and led to the development of a practical strategy that was unanimously approved by the Board.
