Attracting Foreign Investment to the Toronto Region’s Life Sciences Cluster

Shift Health was engaged by a newly formed government-funded agency to develop a foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction strategy for the Toronto Region’s healthcare and life sciences cluster.

Leveraging our nuanced understanding of Toronto and its health and life sciences cluster, we conducted extensive research to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities for FDI in the region. Through a highly iterative process with the client and key partners, we defined and prioritized a set of niche opportunities for FDI. Shift Health developed a report that included an evidence-based value proposition for each of the prioritized FDI opportunities, profiles of ideal business targets and a list of companies with which to engage.

Armed with an understanding of opportunities within the Toronto Region’s life sciences cluster, the client was well-positioned to crystallize an authentic FDI value proposition to international businesses.
