Since joining Shift Health in 2015, Dr. Youssef Hayek has worked extensively with industry, academia, and care-providers and developed deep experience in conducting opportunity evaluations of health technologies, crafting business/strategic plans to guide research and commercialization activities, and guiding policy strategy for industry across multiple disease areas including oncology, neuroscience, and cardiovascular. Youssef’s clients have included Roche, Baycrest, Toronto Global, Aduro Biotech, University of Saskatchewan and the Saudi National Institutes of Health.
Prior to joining Shift Health, Youssef was a post-doctoral fellow at the University Health Network in Toronto. Youssef graduated with a PhD in Physiology from the University of Toronto and a MBA in Finance from Queen’s School of Business at Queen’s University. He has authored 13 publications and is a recipient of the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada Doctoral Training Award and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Science to Business Award.
